From CUL IT Support January 2023:

Zotero likes to be helpful and will redirect e-resources links sometimes.  This conflicts with ezproxy and the user ends up with a blank page or some other issue. And Confluence as well.  It can cause trouble with the EBSCO e-resources links (taken to a generic EBSCO page) AND Confluence in Chrome.
When Zotero redirects, it pops up a small orange bar near the top of the screen saying that it’s done so.  Many people seem to miss that orange bar.
The fix is to uncheck Enable proxy redirection.  I’ve never heard from anyone that unchecking this caused other problems.

From Taylor & Francis rep Feb. 3, 2023:

As per our message last week, we are aware that some customers using the Zotero browser extension have been experiencing temporary blocks when trying to download content from Taylor & Francis Online.

Following an investigation, we have identified the cause as a programming issue with Zotero. Zotero have now implemented a fix to resolve it. Users who experience this issue should check which version of Zotero they are running, and ensure it has been updated as follows:

  • A Firefox update for Zotero Connector 5.0.104
  • Version 5.0.104 for Chrome
  • Version 5.0.105 for Edge
